Born in Tehran, Iran, Ataei Nouri’s attraction to volleyball began in his adolescence. By the time he was 14, he had secured a spot in a local youth team, his undeniable talent making him a standout player. His performance propelled him onto the Iranian Junior National Team at 16, and soon after, he transitioned into the senior squad.
As a player, Ataei Nouri represented top-tier clubs in Iran and Italy, including Paykan Tehran and Pallavolo Padova. His commanding presence and strategic acumen on the court led these teams to numerous victories, and his individual performances garnered recognition and awards.
Upon retiring from his playing career, Ataei Nouri turned his sights towards coaching, leveraging his profound understanding of the game. His coaching journey took him to several clubs in Iran and Italy, where his skills came to the fore as he steered these teams towards success.
In 2023, Ataei Nouri was appointed as the head coach of the Iranian men’s national volleyball team, succeeding Igor Kolakovic. His deep ties with Iranian volleyball, combined with his successful coaching track record, made him the perfect choice for this prestigious role.
