A look back on the past:
In the 2021 VNL, Brazil emerged as the champions, defeating world champions Poland in a nail-biting final held in Rimini, Italy. Brazil won the match 3-1, with the first two sets being closely contested affairs. They later faced each other again in the 2022 VNL, where Poland had their revenge by defeating Brazil 3-0 in the third-place match
World Championships
This is the tournament where Brazil’s domination is the most obvious. Since the turn of the century, Brazil has won 3 consecutive editions (2002 in Argentina, 2006 in Japan and 2010 in Italy) followed by 2 second places (2014 Poland and 2018 in Italy/Bulgaria) and a third place in the latest rendition.
Olympic Games
The fact that Brazil’s volleyball team has never missed Olympic games is surprisingly not the most astonishing one for the team. In the past 20 years, their lowest scoring is 4th, barely missing the medals in Japan, after two golds (2004 Greece and 2016 Brazil) and two silvers (2008 China and 2012 UK)
Brazil’s men’s volleyball team has dominated the sport since the 2000s, with a remarkable record in all major tournaments. Their success is a testament to their skill, dedication, and teamwork, which has inspired generations of volleyball players and fans alike.
