In a riveting match that ended 3:0 in Iran’s favor, the Persian squad showed their mettle against Germany in the 2023 Volleyball Nations League. The game scores were nail-bitingly close in the first two sets with 25-23 and 26-24 respectively, before Iran took a decisive victory in the final set with 25-16.
Iran’s dominating performance saw them execute a total of 36 attacks, 12 blocks, 6 serve aces, and 39 digs. Their counterparts, Germany, tallied a higher total of 40 attacks, but only managed to secure 3 blocks, 2 serve aces, and 39 digs, thus not quite reaching their potential.
The Persian team’s powerful offense was spearheaded by Esmaeilnezhad Amin who achieved an impressive total of 16 points, of which 12 were attack points, 2 were block points and 2 were serve points. Sharifi Morteza followed closely with 11 points, showing tenacity with his attacks. Team captain Mousavi Eraghi Seyed Mohammad made a significant contribution with 9 points, evenly distributed across attack, block, and serve points. Meanwhile, Hossein Khanzadeh Firouzjah Poriya and Valizadeh Mohammad also played integral roles. Hossein Khanzadeh amassed 8 points while Valizadeh garnered 6 points, demonstrating their pivotal roles in the team’s victory.
On the other hand, Germany was led by team captain Reichert Moritz who put up a gallant effort with 11 points, 10 of which came from attacks and one from a block.
