The match highlighted the Asian power’s offensive prowess, with an impressive total of 62 attacks. Coupled with six service aces, three blocks, and 46 digs, Team Japan demonstrated superior performance and coordination, earning a well-deserved win.
Japan’s top performers, Yuji Nishida and team captain Yuki Ishikawa, were instrumental in securing the victory. Nishida, in the position of Opposite (O), amassed a staggering 24 total points, comprising 22 attack points, a block point, and a serve point. Meanwhile, Ishikawa, an Outside Hitter (OH), recorded 17, with 15 attack points, a block point, and a serve point.
Additional contributors to Japan’s success were Outside Hitter Ran Takahashi with 15 pontsand Middle Blockers (MB) Taishi Onodera and Kentaro Takahashi, both contributing 6 each.
In stark contrast, Serbia, despite a commendable effort, fell short in matching Japan’s dynamism. The team accounted for 51 attacks, eight blocks, two service aces, and 33 digs. Notwithstanding, the individual performances of Pavle Peric and team captain Drazen Luburic were notable.
Outside Hitter Peric led the Serbian team with 22 total points, of which 17 were from attack, four were block , and one was a serve ace. On the other hand, Luburic, functioning in the Opposite role, recorded 17 total points.
From the Serbian team, OH Miran Kujundžić, MB Petar Krsmanovic, and MB Aleksandar Nedeljkovic added 10, 7, and 3 total ABS, respectively, to the team’s score. Kujundžić and Krsmanovic each contributed a block point, while Krsmanovic also managed a serve point.
