Italy has been crowned the champion of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League after a stunning 3-1 victory over Brazil in a thrilling final on July 27th. After dropping the first set, the Italians mounted an impressive comeback to secure the title with scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.

The final match of the tournament was a hard-fought battle between two of the world’s top teams. Brazil came out strong in the first set, taking an early lead and holding off a late surge from Italy to win 25-22. However, the Italian squad, led by a dominant performance from Ekaterina Antropova, refused to back down.

In the second set, Italy found their rhythm, with their powerful attacks and solid blocking proving too much for the Brazilian side. They took the set with a comfortable 25-18 victory. The third and fourth sets were much tighter affairs, with both teams trading blows and showcasing incredible defensive plays. In the end, it was Italy’s clinical finishing and unwavering determination that made the difference, as they clinched both sets 25-22 to seal the championship.

Antropova was the star of the show, leading all scorers with an incredible 24 points, including 12 kills and 4 blocks. She was well-supported by her teammate Myriam Sylla, who added 16 points of her own. For Brazil, Gabriela ‘Gabi’ Guimarães was the top performer with 15 points.
