In the latest round of the Volleyball Nations League 2023, the Japanese squad displayed a brilliant performance in a triumphant 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-21) victory over the Cuban team. Despite their loss, the Cuban team showed flashes of brilliance, primarily from their Outside Hitter No.18, Miguel Lopez , who scored a team-high 10 points, including 8 attack points, 1 block point, and 1 serve point. OH No.23, Marlon Yant , showcased his all-around skills by scoring 8 absolute points, splitting between 4 attack points, 3 block points, and 1 serve point. MB No.1, Jose Alvarez, and Opposite No.12, Jesus Herrera, each added 7 points to the team’s score.
Cuba’s defense made a notable impact with 8 block points and managed to earn 3 serve aces. However, the team’s 30 attacks and 24 digs were not enough to overpower Japan’s relentless strategy.
