Poland Prevails Over Dominican Republic in Volleyball Nations League 2023

In a riveting showdown at the Volleyball Nations League 2023, the Polish women’s team emerged victorious against the Dominican Republic, claiming a 3-1 win (23:25, 28:30, 25:23, 17:25).

This impressive victory showcased the skill and determination of the Polish team, who executed 60 successful attacks, 14 blocks, and 3 service aces. Their defensive prowess was equally notable, with 78 digs across the four sets. The Dominican Republic put up a spirited fight, responding with 54 attacks, 8 blocks, and a similar 3 service aces, while outdoing Poland in digs with an impressive 80.

Magdalena Stysiak, donning the number 9 jersey for Poland, was the standout player of the match. She played an exceptional game as an Opposite player, contributing a total of 28 points to the team’s tally, with 24 attack points, 4 block points. Olivia Rozanski (No.30), an outside hitter, added 18 points, with 17 of these coming from attacks.

Dominating the middle blocker position for Poland, Agnieszka Korneluk (No.5), the team’s captain, earned 11, with a strong balance between attack and block points, while also delivering a crucial service point.

For the Dominican Republic, Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez (No.20) put up an admirable fight. Martinez, an outside hitter, scored a total of 20 points, with 18 from attacks and 2 from blocks. Gaila Ceneida Gonzalez Lopez (No.23) followed closely with 19, almost entirely earned from attacks and a single block point. However, their performances were not enough to tilt the game in the Dominican Republic’s favor.
