Monza Seeks First Win at Cuneo to Change Course

Vero Volley Monza faces a crucial midweek clash against Acqua Sant’Anna Cuneo, desperately seeking their first victory of the SuperLega season to turn their fortunes around.

Monza Aims to Invert Course Against Cuneo

The Vero Volley Monza squad is set for an important away game on Wednesday, November 4th, as they travel to face Acqua Sant’Anna Cuneo. This marks the fourth matchday of the SuperLega’s first half, and for Monza, it’s a vital opportunity to break a streak of three consecutive losses and begin climbing the league standings.

Monza’s last outing saw them fall in straight sets at home to Sir Susa Scai Perugia at the Opiquad Arena. The team, known as the Rossoblù, now needs to find a way to secure points on the road.

Cuneo’s Home Advantage and Monza’s Challenge

Acqua Sant’Anna Cuneo, playing on their home court, will be eager to capitalize on their home-field advantage to secure a positive result. While still searching for their first win, Cuneo has shown resilience, earning two points so far from two matches that went to a deciding tie-break.

This indicates a team capable of competing fiercely and pushing opponents to the limit, even if victory has eluded them.

The head-to-head record between Monza and Cuneo is perfectly balanced, with each team having won one of their two previous encounters. The match will feature two familiar faces now playing for Cuneo: Leandro Mosca, who was with Monza in the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons, and Nicolò Volpe, a former Monza player from the 2021/22 season.

The game is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM and will be streamed live on VBTV. The officiating team will consist of referees Dominga Lot and Massimiliano Giardini.

Player Perspective and Upcoming Fixtures

Vero Volley Monza’s outside hitter, Zhasmin Velichkov, expressed the team’s determination: “We have faced really tough matches against two of the best teams currently in Italy and a very demanding game against Prata, but we can’t wait to win again. The game against Cuneo will be complicated, especially because we will play away, in front of their crowd. I hope, however, that we will manage to face it with a clear mind and express our best volleyball. After three consecutive defeats, we will try to invert the course by playing as a team and staying united.”

Monza’s challenging schedule continues after this midweek fixture. On Sunday, November 8th, also at 8:30 PM, they will host Valsa Group Modena at home. A special promotion, “SUPERTEN,” is available for this match, offering tickets at €10 for the central red tribune and €5 for the side red tribune by using the code SUPERMODENA2627.
